Education Scotland Inspection Feedback


Recently an Inspector from Education Scotland visited our school.  The letter issued to parents and the evaluations of the Quality Indicators show that children are happy and progressing well in their learning.

Key strengths of the school

  • Confident and happy children who show a great pride in their school
  • The teamwork of staff in promoting children’s wellbeing
  • Strong partnerships with parents and the local community, which enhance children’s learning
  • Children’s learning experiences and their personal achievements
  • Very effective leadership by the headteacher in driving school improvements

Agreed areas for improvement –

  • Continue with plans for further improvements to the curriculum, and to tracking children’s progress.

Bio Day Fun

The Nursery children joined the P1-3 children for a mini beast hunt in the local woods with Katy Martin, our local Countryside Ranger.  We found spiders, ants, slugs, worms and a toad!  It was brilliant fun.

Bio Day

We are having another Bio Day on Friday. Please come dressed for a morning outdoors (wear school sweatshirts though). Katy Martin, the Countryside Ranger will be here again.

Pop Art

Pop Art

The P4-7 class took inspiration from Andy Warhol and the Pop Art culture to create fantastic Art work.

Sports Championships


Sports Championships

We will be starting the sports events to find the Sports Champions in different age groups. There will be a variety of events that the children will compete in and the categories are as follows.
P1/2 girls

P1/2 boys

P3/4/5 girls

P3/4/5 boys

P6/7 girls

P6/7 boys
Points will be totalled up after each event and 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category will be announced at the End of Term Assembly on Wed 1 July.

Please ensure that children have their PE kits every day as we will take advantage of good weather when we can. P3-7 will have the sprint races on Tuesday (weather permitting).

More Transition Dates

P3s will be visiting the P4-7 class again tomorrow and the N4 children will be popping in to the P1-3 cass for half an hour.

On Wed 24th June the P3s and N4 children will be in their new classes all morning.

On Friday 1 May, the Nursery 4 children will be spending some time in the P1-3 classroom and the P3s will be going through to the P4-7 classroom as part of our transition programme. Further transition dates to follow
